Visionary Entrepreneur, Author, Champion of Innovation in Wellness and Design
Mei Xu is a pioneering Asian American entrepreneur with more than two decades of leadership in consumer products and wellness. Known for her bold vision and design-driven innovation, she founded Chesapeake Bay Candle in 1994, growing it into a global lifestyle brand sold at Target, Bloomingdale’s, and Amazon before selling to Newell Brands in 2017. Her “Mind & Body” collection helped establish fragrance in the wellness space. Xu has been recognized by Politico, the White House, and Forbes, which named her to its 50 Over 50 list in 2021. She serves on the boards of the University of Maryland, Children’s National Hospital Foundation, and Sandy Spring Bancorp. Today, she leads Concord Fragrances, creator of Blueme, redefining scent as a tool for wellness.
