David Messer

David Messer has devoted his career to the financial services industry, with a particular focus on commodities markets. He is Founder and CEO of Freepoint Commodities, a leading global commodities merchant known for its expertise in both physical and financial markets, with offices in over ten countries around the world. Before founding Freepoint Commodities, he served as CEO of Sempra Energy Trading Corp, and President of AIG Trading Corp.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David is deeply interested in Chinese culture, philosophy, history, and art. He is an avid collector of Chinese export silver, and speaks fluent Chinese.

David is a graduate of East Asian Studies at Yale University where he is a Yale Sterling Fellow.
